On September 2, the 2023 "Traditional Chinese Tea Making Techniques and Related Customs" Inheritors Training Course, which was guided by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province and hosted by ZAFU, started on the East Lake Campus of the university. Wang Chenyang, Director of Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Li Xinfang, member of the party group and deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, and Shen Xi, President of the university, attended and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Wu Jiasheng.
Shen Xi, on behalf of the school to devote to China's "Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)" inheritance and protection of the students to welcome the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Department of ICH, the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on the school's long-term care and support to express our gratitude. After a brief introduction to the basic situation of the school, Shen Xi said, in the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the school has formed a profound tea culture research precipitation, will be for the protection, inheritance and dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture, to the world to tell a good story of China's contribution to the power of ZAFU.
From "China's traditional tea-making techniques, provincial arts and related customs" involved in the 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) 44 national ICH representative projects of representative inheritors, business backbone, management personnel to participate in the training. During the training period, from ICH, tea, tea culture and other fields of front-line experts and scholars, business leaders, relevant units responsible for the comrades will focus on "tea ICH protection practice," "tea ICH creation and innovation," "tea ICH help Economic and social development" and other topics for the workshop participants thematic lectures, to help students establish "tea culture, tea industry, tea technology" concept of integrated development, promote the development of the tea industry and local economic and social development, and help revitalise the countryside and common prosperity.
Last year, "China's traditional tea-making techniques and related practices" was officially included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This workshop is the first workshop for tea-related national intangible heritage representative projects under the framework of "China Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Training Programme" of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, aiming to build a platform for exchange and cooperation of tea-related intangible heritage projects, and to help the inheritors and practitioners of related projects to enhance their cultural confidence and to broaden their horizons. The purpose of the workshop is to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation of tea-related intangible heritage projects, help the inheritors and practitioners of the relevant projects to enhance their cultural self-confidence, broaden their international horizons, improve their ability to perform their duties, promote the integration of traditional skills with the modern market and daily life, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of intangible heritage.
