ZAFU has been dedicated to the idea of open education, and has actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation. It has signed cooperative agreements with more than 100 universities and research institutes in 27 countries (regions), including the U.K., the United States, Canada, Finland, Japan, and Australia. Strategic partnerships have been established with more than 10 Top 100 Universities around the world including the University of Helsinki, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the University of British Columbia. ZAFU has also jointly established a Confucius Institute with the University of Novi Sad in Serbia representing its growing international influence.
