There are 18 teachers and teaching experimenters, including five professors, six associate professors, 7 lecturers (including experimentalists); there are nine teachers with doctoral degrees, accounting for half of the teachers; one provincial Excellent Teacher, one provincial Famous Teacher, and three provincial Trans-Century Academic and Technical Leaders. There are three research directions for the master’s degree program in botany: plant classification and resource utilization, plant structure and development, and plant physiology and biochemistry. In the last five years, it has undertaken more than 70 scientific research projects, including six state-level projects and 13 projects at the ministerial and provincial level, for which the expenditures of over 5 million Yuan; obtained 18 awards at ministerial, provincial and bureau levels through taking charge and participation; published more than 150 academic papers, including 15 papers collected by SCI, two papers by EI and 11 papers in first grade journals; chiefly complied (co-complied) more than 20 monographs and textbooks; and obtained four national patents for inventions. The teaching reform achievements in research on the “Construction and Implementation of Botany Practice Teaching and Innovation System Based on ‘Integration of Two Parks’” won the first prize of the Sixth Higher Education and Teaching Achievement Award in Zhejiang Province.In the past five years, it has chiefly compiled and co-complied 10 published textbooks and various teaching reference books. There is a provincial-level forestry experimental teaching demonstration center, with an area of 950 m2for laboratory space, and more than 5 Million Yuan worth of instruments and equipment. The main instruments and equipment include: digital interactive experimental equipment, MPA near-infrared spectroscopy, LI-6400 photosynthesis measurement system, Olympus BX 51T research-based microscope, LSM 510 META confocal laser scanning biological microscope, and an Agilent5975-7890 gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer. The built digital herbarium and the co-built on-campus botanical gardens have created excellent working conditions for postgraduate teaching and training. In addition, the needs of cultivating postgraduates can be met through the use of all kinds of books and electronic databases of the school library.
