On April 7, Prof. Andrew Deeks, President of Murdoch University, Prof. Treena Burgess, Executive Director of the Harry Butler Institute, and Prof. Ren Yonglin, Professor of Biosecurity and Food Safety, visited our university. President Shen Xi received the guests and held talks, which were hosted by Vice President Wu Jiasheng and attended by Song Houhui, member of the Party Committee of the university and Dean of the College of Animal Science and Technology•College of Veterinary Medicine.

Shen Xi expressed warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that Murdoch University and Zhejiang A&F University (ZAFU) have a deep foundation of cooperation, and this delegation's visit further consolidates and strengthens the cooperative ties between the two sides. He hoped that the two universities would achieve more cooperation results in the future in terms of joint training of talents, scientific research cooperation and exchanges, carrying out cooperative school running, and inter-school interaction and mutual visits.

Andrew Deeks expressed his gratitude for the reception of the university and introduced the research institutes, faculties, teaching facilities and research focus of Murdoch University. He hoped that the two sides should seize the opportunity to further broaden and deepen the field of cooperation, as the motto of Murdoch University says, “Creating a Better Future Together”.

During the meeting, ZAFU and Murdoch University signed an agreement on the establishment of the China-Australia Institute of Sustainable Agriculture and Animal Resources.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the College of Animal Science and Technology•College of Veterinary Medicine, the university library and the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Silviculture.

Relevant responsible persons in charge of College of Animal Science and Technology•College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Jiyang College and International Affairs Office participated in the activities.
