On October 18, President Ying Yibin met with Jukka Kola, former President of University of Helsinki in Finland, and appointed him as an honorary professor of our university. Vice President Shen Xi presided over the ceremony and the persons in charge of the Research Department, Personnel Division and International Office attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, President Ying Yibin expressed warm welcome and thanks to Professor Jukka Kola for attending the university's 60th anniversary celebration. He pointed out that since we signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement with University of Helsinki in 2014, our university had witnessed fruitful scientific research and educational achievements. He believed that our university would gradually deepen internationalization under the guidance and with the assistance of Professor Jukka Kola in the future. Professor Jukka Kola said cooperation was a win-win strategy for the two universities; youth created the future, and we would provide more opportunities for the students of Zhejiang A & F University.
President Ying Yibin issued a letter of appointment to Professor Jukka Kola. The two parties exchanged gifts and took a group photo to mark the occasion.
Jukka Kola, former President of University of Helsinki in Finland, was a professor of Agricultural Policy in 1992. His main research areas cover agriculture and rural politics and economics, international trade and welfare economics. He was named the "Best Teacher" of University of Helsinki.
