On March 20, the Opening Ceremony for International Students of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University (ZAFU) in the spring semester of 2025 and the Legal and Safety Education Meeting were held in the First Lecture Hall of the Library. Zhao Youhua, dean of the College of International Education (Confucius Institute), as well as relevant persons in charge of the college, all counselors, teachers and administrators, and current international students attended the ceremony.

On behalf of the college, Zhao Youhua warmly welcomed nearly 200 new students from 39 countries, including France, Russia, Serbia, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Zambia, Morocco, etc. He encouraged the students to have high aspirations and be practical, to pursue their dreams in the beautiful ecological campus of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, to keep in mind the school motto of“Seek Truth, Dedicate Yourself to Your Work”, to carry forward the spirit of“Perseverance, Constantly Surpass”, to strictly abide by the law, to learn Chinese well, and to actively participate in the series of cultural experience activities of“Perceiving China”. Zhao Youhua and Wang Yilong, the off-campus counselor of the college, made a special lecture on legal safety education for all international students, which was closely related to the actual situation of international students, from the aspects of anti-drugs, immigration, transportation, public security, fraud prevention, religion, etc., explaining the law with cases, warning international students to strictly abide by laws and regulations and school rules and regulations, to strengthen their own awareness of safety precautions, and to safeguard the good image of international students. After the meeting, all international students signed a pledge to“prevent telecommunication network fraud”.
