Approved the First Batch of National Forestry and Grass Science Popularization Bases

Recently, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly announced the list of the first batch of national forestry and grass science popularization bases. Our university was approved the first batch of national forestry and grass science popularization bases.

For a long time, our university has been comprehensively implementing Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization. The East Lake Campus of the university has been built in accordance with the planning and construction concept of "advocating nature and optimizing the environment; adapting to local conditions and distinctive features; putting people first and uniting heaven and man" and the characteristics of "two gardens in one" of the campus and the botanical garden. After nearly 20 years of construction, the campus botanical garden has collected more than 3,300 species of plants and has been initially established as an ecological education base integrating species conservation, teaching and research, popular science education, and recreational study, and the number of species in the campus botanical garden has ranked first in the list of campus plants of Chinese universities for many years.

The selection was launched in 2021, and after recommendation, qualification examination, on-site verification and expert evaluation, our university was successfully selected with the advantages of always adhering to the ecological university philosophy, fruitful ecological culture and ecological science and technology innovation achievements, and the distinctive ecological campus of "two gardens in one". The first batch of 57 national forestry and grass science popularization bases were selected, including 23 in the category of venues, 12 in the category of education and scientific research, and 22 in the category of nature reserves, and our university is one of the 12 in the category of education and scientific research.
