On the afternoon of October 17, President Ying Yibin met with Sebastian Kolodziejczyk, Director of Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, Piotr Kacejko, President of Lublin University of Technology, and Dejan Jaksic, President of University of Novi Sad in Serbia in the First Conference Room of the Administration Building, and appointed them as Honorary Professors of our University. Vice President Shen Xi presided over the ceremony. Lucjan Pawlowski, Academician of Lublin University of Technology, Zbigniew Gradzki, Vice President of University of Life Sciences in Lublin, IvanaŽivančevićSekeruš, Foreign President of Confucius Institute at Novi Sad University, persons in charge of Personnel Division and International Office of our university, as well as the Chinese President of Confucius Institute at Novi Sad University attended the ceremony.
President Ying Yibin extended his sincere welcome to the guests and introduced the general situation of our university to them. He said Poland and Serbia are important partners along the "Belt and Road". Our university established a cooperative relationship with Lublin University of Technology in 2007, and we established Confucius Institute at Novi Sad University in 2013; in view of the above, we had a glorious history and will have a bright prospect of cooperation with the two universities; we are looking forward to more in-depth cooperation in degree, curriculum, faculty, research and institution co-building in the future.
President Ying Yibin awarded Certificates of Honorary Professor to Director Sebastian Kolodziejczyk, President Piotr Kacejko and President Dejan Jaksic. The three professors delivered their speeches, expressing their thanks to our university and their expectations of future cooperation. The two parties exchanged gifts and posed for a picture together.
Professor Profile:
Sebastian Kolodziejczyk is currently Director of Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange and Academic Teacher at Jagiellonian University. He studied for a PhD degree at the University of Bristol and Oxford from 2000 to 2002. He continued his postdoctoral studies at the City University of New York and University of Geneva from 2008 to 2011.
Piotr Kacejko is currently President of Lublin University of Technology. He received his master's and PhD degree at Lublin University of Technology. He has taught in the university for 35 years, focusing on the research field of power system analysis, protection and reliability enhancement.
Dejan Jaksic is currently President of University of Novi Sad in Serbia. He received his master's and PhD degree from the Institute of Economics of the University of Novi Sad in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He has been a full-time professor since 2014.
